Biographical Information

Rev. Jason Emmerson Rev. Jason Emmerson is the Executive Director of United Caring Services. He is a graduate of Reitz High School, Indiana University Kelley School of Business with a B.S. in Marketing, Eden Theological Seminary with a Masters in Divinity, and the University of Missouri-St. Louis with a Master in Public Policy Administration and a Nonprofit Management and Leadership Certificate. Jason has served as a pastor in Illinois, Kentucky, and Missouri as well as a Sales Account Executive in Chicago, IL. Jason has twenty years of nonprofit management and leadership experience. He is very active in the community working with the Commission on Homelessness, Evansville Mental Health Commission, and the Evansville Promise Zone. He serves as a board member with the Council of Health and Human Services Ministry (CHHSM) of the UCC, ECHO Community Healthcare, and NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Evansville. Jason also volunteers with the Evansville Trails Coalition, Junior Achievement, and SMILE on down syndrome. He is a member at Salem (Heusler) UCC, a proud uncle, and has a 10-year-old cat named Claire.
Pastor Josh Nichols Joshua Nichols is an ordained minister in the Church of the Nazarene currently serving as the Senior Vice President and Controller for the Evansville Rescue Mission.   Josh is married to Ashley Dekemper and they have two wonderful boys Jonah (11) and Oliver (7) both boys attend West Elementary.  Josh has pastored in Florida and throughout Indiana.  In 2018, Josh and Ashley pioneered a compassionate ministry work in Newberry, Indiana by remodeling a church property that had previously been closed.  This work revitalized that old church property and brought it back to life as the first and only Compassionate Ministry Center for the Southwest Indiana District Church of the Nazarene.  Josh, Ashley, Jonah and Oliver reside in Mount Vernon and love being close to their family.                         
Pastor Troy DeKemper Pastor Troy DeKemper is a lifelong resident of Mt. Vernon area and graduated from Mt. Vernon High School in 1982.  He was employed at Bristol Myers Squibb for 33 years and is currently employed at BASI and continuing to farm on his family farm.  Pastor Troy completed his ministerial training through the Nazarene Bible College and was ordained as an Elder in the Church of the Nazarene on July 17, 2002 and recently retired from the Nazarene church.  Pastor Troy along with his wife Angie, served the Point Township Nazarene Church as Associate Pastor for 17 years and Senior Pastor for 14 years.  During his time at Point Township, he was very active serving people in the church and community.  He was very successful while there and many young people accepted a call into ministry.  Currently, Pastor Troy is serving as pulpit supply pastor in area churches, and he and Angie are facilitating a Grief Support Group meeting in Mt. Vernon ministering to those who have lost loved ones to death.
